Hi-Chew Introduces New Flavors and Packaging

Japanese candy brand Hi-Chew has added four new varieties to its line of fruit chews for this summer. Some feature new flavors, while others highlight remodeled packaging. The release continues a busy past few months for the brand, which also launched its East Meets West Flavor Challenge in March, encouraging fans to vote on the variety they want debuted in the United States in spring 2019.

1. Plus Fruit

Plus Fruit features two fruit flavors in each individual candy, touching on today’s two-in-one flavor trends seen in brands such as Breyer’s and Jolly Rancher. Hi-Chew’s Plus Fruit bag contains two flavor combinations: Mango & Pineapple, and Cranberry & Grape.

2. Strawberry Bag

Hi-Chew has given one of its perennial flavors, Strawberry, its own pouch, a first for any of the brand’s flavors. The Strawberry Hi-Chew offers consumers the taste of fresh strawberries and even looks the part with its pink exterior. Each pouch contains 3.53 ounces of candy.

3. Acai

One of Hi-Chew’s newest flavors, Acai features fruity notes, real chia seeds and a vibrant purple color. The acai berry is high in antioxidants and hits on today’s superfood trend. This new Hi-Chew variety comes in a stick format containing 10 pieces, appealing to on-the-go consumers, according to the company.

4. Tropical Mix

Hi-Chew’s Topical Mix offers a variety of flavors such as Mango, Kiwi and Pineapple, the latter being a new flavor for the brand. Each piece delivers a juicy taste with a balanced blend of sweet and tart, the company said.
